Brad Henkel and Joe Moffett combine forces as a duo that explores issues of symmetry and simulacra in improvisation. Employing extended techniques, tape recordings, and amplification, the ensemble takes on realms hidden linkages and subconscious tendencies.
Speaker World is a duo of Derek Baron and John Welsh. Derek Baron is a musician from Chicago, currently based in New York City, where he is a part of the electroacoustic bricolage group Causings. His solo music uses found sound, homemade processors, and speech acts to open up possibilities of musical spacing. John Welsh is a guitar-centered experimental musician and composer based in New York City. He has released solo music on The Freedom Garden tape label and is a member of the collective group Causings. He received his Master's in Composition from Wesleyan University.
Angela Morris is a saxophonist-composer rapidly making her presence felt in the Brooklyn music community since she transplanted from her native Toronto in 2011.
Morris has performed across the US, Canada, the UK, and Europe. A multi-instrumentalist, she has contributed saxophone, violin, flute, clarinet, and vocals to jazz/avant/improvised, indie/pop, and new music performances and recordings. Morris received her Masters degree from the City University of New York where she studied with Darcy James Argue. She is a Canada Council for the Arts grant recipient and member of the BMI Composers’ Workshop.
